Suletta pilots the XVX-016 Gundam Aerial, a GUND-ARM mobile suit developed by the Shin Sei Development Corporation on Mercury, meant as a successor to the Gundam Lfrith which uses the banned GUND-Format technology. Shown to be a timid girl who has trouble communicating with people other than her mother. Following the incident, she was trained to be a Mobile Suit pilot before she is sent to the academy under the alias Suletta Mercury.

In a younger age at that time, she is shown to have a high resonance with the GUND Format without suffering from its ill effects despite without any implants. She is one of the two survivors of the Fólkvangr Incident, which caused the death of all the members of Ochs Earth Corporation and the termination of the 'GUND Format' technology 12 years ago. Twelve years after the incident, in a solar system with a large socioeconomic difference between the 'Spaceians' and 'Earthians', in Ad Stella 122, Ericht-now going under the alias Suletta Mercury-transfers to the Asticassia School of Technology, an academic institute run by the Beneritt Group.

Only two people narrowly survived: Mobile Suit pilot Elnora Samaya and her daughter Ericht Samaya, along with the prototype GUNDAM.

But after the world learned it was used in the development of Mobile Suits using the GUND Format after Ochs Earth acquired the company and of its damage to its subjects, the Mobile Suit Development Council Front ordered a permanent ban on the development of the GUND-based technology, resulting in the destruction of the satellite research facility Fólkvangr, killing everyone in it. In the year Ad Stella 110, the Vanadis Institute created an advanced man–machine system called GUND, which would advance humanity's desire to go to the stars.
